In this project we picked a Honeycreeper to explain adaptive radiation. This project uses Global Awareness because it required us to research the birds. Most of these birds are endangered and we had to explain how we can protect them. This project included going to Haleakala to learn more about these birds and get to see them. The Bird I chose was the Laysan Finch.
The trip to Haleakala was very fun because we were able to see these endangered Honeycreepers with our own eyes. Learning about adaptive radiation through honeycreepers was very interesting because there were many useful adaptation that the honeycreepers developed to evolve.
